Email support / report an issue

[email protected]

Tell us what happened, what you expected, and the steps to reproduce the issue. Include your device model, iOS version, and Vault app version if available. For a scanning problem, attaching the screenshot you scanned and naming your brokerage helps us fix it fastest.

If the button doesn't open your email app, copy the address above into your preferred email service. If you attach a screenshot, hide account numbers and other personal financial details first.

Log your first trade in under a minute

1

Open Vault

No sign-up, no account, no setup. Your first 2 trades are free with every feature unlocked.

2

Tap + and choose "Scan a Screenshot"

Pick your brokerage's order confirmation from Photos or take a photo of it. You can also type the trade in manually.

3

Review and confirm

Check the ticker, buy or sell, price, and quantity Vault read from the screenshot. Tell it whether this fill opened or closed a position, then tap "Use These Values" and Save.

4

Tag why you took it

Open "Notes & Tags" and add tags like FOMO or Followed Plan. Your P&L appears on the calendar and in Stats right away.

Frequently Asked Questions

Vault is a native iOS trading journal for active traders. Log trades manually or scan brokerage screenshots with on-device OCR, track your P&L on a color-coded calendar, tag trades with behavioral patterns, and export your history to CSV. Your journal lives on your device: no accounts, no cloud. Vault is free to try with 2 trades, then available as a weekly or monthly subscription or a one-time lifetime unlock.
No. All trade data is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework, and your screenshots are processed entirely on-device using Apple Vision. Nothing is ever uploaded. The only network connection Vault makes is to Apple's App Store for purchases, and it never includes your trades. If you delete the app, your data is permanently removed.
Vault includes optimized parsers for Robinhood, Webull, Charles Schwab, Fidelity, and E*TRADE / Morgan Stanley, plus a generic parser for most other brokerages that show a standard fill confirmation. You can select your brokerage manually or let the app auto-detect it.

Scan a completed stock or ETF order: for Robinhood, the "order completed" screen right after a trade, or the order details from your History. Order tickets you haven't submitted yet, quote and chart pages, pending or canceled orders, options, and crypto are not imported. Vault tells you why instead of guessing, so a limit price or preview never ends up in your journal.
The scanner uses Apple's Vision framework (VNRecognizeTextRequest) to extract text from your screenshot, then runs it through brokerage-specific parsing rules to identify the ticker, buy or sell, the fill price, and quantity. All processing happens on-device — the image never leaves your phone. You then review every value, confirm whether the fill opened or closed a position (a sell can be a short entry or a long exit), and the trade form is filled in for you to save.
Vault is designed for stocks and ETFs. You can manually enter any trade with a ticker symbol, entry/exit prices, and quantity, so it can work for other instruments in practice. The screenshot scanner only imports stock and ETF fills: options and crypto screens show a message asking you to enter those trades manually. There is currently no options chain or contract-specific tracking.
In the Trades tab, tap the share icon in the top-right corner and choose Export all or Export filtered (only the trades matching your current search and filter). Vault creates a CSV file and opens the iOS share sheet, so you can AirDrop it, email it, save it to Files, or open it in Excel or Google Sheets. The CSV includes date, time, ticker, direction, entry/exit prices, quantity, P&L, tags, and notes. Export is always available, including after your free trades are used.
Vault is free to download, and your first 2 trades are free with every feature unlocked. To keep logging new trades, choose Weekly ($1.99/week), Monthly ($4.99/month), or Lifetime ($24.99, one-time). Prices are in USD and may vary by country. There are no ads.
When you tap + for a third trade, Vault shows the plans. If you close that screen, nothing is lost: you can still view, edit, delete, and export the trades you already logged. Only adding new trades requires a plan. The 2 free trades are counted as trades created, so deleting one does not free up another slot.
No. If you paid for Vault before version 2.0, you keep full access to everything at no extra cost. It is recognized automatically from your original App Store download. If you ever see the plans screen anyway (for example on a new iPhone with no trades yet), tap Restore Purchases on that screen while connected to the internet and signed in with the same Apple Account you used to buy Vault.
Sign in with the same Apple Account, open Vault, and tap + to open the plans screen (or tap the "Free trades used" banner). Tap Restore Purchases at the bottom. Your subscription or lifetime unlock is restored in a few seconds.
Subscriptions are managed by Apple. Go to Settings > Apple Account > Subscriptions on your iPhone, choose Vault, and tap Cancel Subscription. You keep access until the end of the period you already paid for. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com; we cannot issue refunds directly.
Your trade data is included in your standard iPhone backup (iCloud backup or local Mac/PC backup via Finder or iTunes). If you restore your phone from a backup, your Vault data will be restored with it. You can also export your trades to CSV at any time as a manual backup of your records.

Common Issues

1

Scanner says it can't import this screenshot

Vault only imports completed stock and ETF fills. If you see "This is an order being placed" or "This doesn't look like an order," you scanned an order ticket, a preview, or a quote page. Open the filled order from your brokerage's history and scan that instead. Options and crypto trades need to be entered manually. If the screenshot is a completed fill and still isn't read, try selecting your brokerage manually instead of Auto-Detect and make sure the image is clear and not cropped too tightly.

2

Scanner extracted the wrong price or quantity

OCR can occasionally misread numbers, especially on low-resolution screenshots or screens with complex layouts. After scanning, you always have the chance to review and correct values in the trade entry form before saving. Try rescanning with a clearer screenshot if the results are consistently off.

3

Camera permission denied

Vault needs camera access only for the screenshot scanner. When access is off, Vault shows an "Open Settings" button; you can also go to Settings → Vault → Camera and toggle it on. Choosing a screenshot from your library works without any permission, because it uses the system photo picker.

4

Trades not showing on the calendar

The calendar shows trades based on their trade date, not the date they were logged. If you log a trade today but set the date to last week, it will appear on last week's calendar cell. Navigate to the correct month using the arrow buttons to find your trade.

5

CSV export is missing trades

"Export filtered" only includes trades matching your current search and Long/Short filter. Choose "Export all" from the share menu to include your complete trade history.

6

I already paid for Vault but I see the plans screen

Tap Restore Purchases at the bottom of the plans screen while connected to the internet and signed in with the Apple Account you used to buy Vault. Your full access is restored and remembered on that device. If it still doesn't work, email us with the approximate date you bought the app.
