How to play
1

Pick a category

World Trivia, History Quiz, Science Quiz, Word Power, or Quick Math from the home screen.

2

Answer five questions

Each round is five multiple-choice questions, drawn at random from that category. There is no timer — take as long as you like.

3

Select an answer and submit

Tap an option to select it, then press Submit. You can change your mind freely up until you submit.

4

Read the explanation

Right or wrong, you get the correct answer and a short explanation of why it's correct. This is the part worth slowing down for.

5

See your score and keep the streak

After question five you get your score out of five. Play at least one round a day to keep your streak going.

Frequently asked questions
I bought this app back when it cost money. Do I have to pay again?

No. If you bought the app when it was a paid download, or bought the unlock inside an earlier version, you keep full access permanently and will never be asked to pay again.

In most cases this is automatic — install the app while signed in to the same Apple Account you originally purchased with, and everything is already unlocked. If you do see a paywall, tap Restore Purchases on the home screen or on the unlock screen, and make sure you are signed in to that original Apple Account.

Still locked after that? Email us and we will sort it out.

Is Spark free?

Spark is free to download, and World Trivia is free to play every day — three rounds a day, no account, no ads, no time limit. When you pick a category during setup you also get two free rounds in that category even if it's a paid one.

A single one-time purchase unlocks all five categories and removes the daily round limit. It is not a subscription: you pay once, and there is nothing to renew or cancel. If you reinstall the app or move to a new device, tap Restore Purchases to get your unlock back.

Does the app need an internet connection?

No. Spark works completely offline. All 484 questions are bundled with the app, so you can play on a plane, on the subway, or anywhere without Wi-Fi.

The only moment the app needs a connection is when you make or restore the in-app purchase, which is handled by Apple.

What makes this different from the other free quiz apps?

Three things: every answer is explained, so a round leaves you knowing something rather than just scored; there are no ads, no account, and no subscription; and it works offline.

Spark is not trying to have the largest question bank. It's a five-question round you can finish in about a minute, built so the minute is worth something.

How many questions are there?

484 across the five categories: 100 History, 100 Science, 98 World Trivia, 96 Quick Math, and 90 Word Power. Questions are shuffled every round, and the app avoids repeating a question you've recently seen.

We add to the bank in app updates. If there's a topic you'd like to see, tell us.

Can I change my answer after I pick it?

Yes, any time before you press Submit. Once you submit, the answer locks in and the explanation appears.

Does the app track my progress?

Yes. Spark keeps your daily streak, your best score, and how many rounds you've played, all stored locally on your device. There are no leaderboards and nothing is uploaded anywhere.

I think one of the answers is wrong. What should I do?

Please tell us. Email the question text and the answer you believe is correct, and we'll check it. We read every report and correct genuine errors in the next update.

I paid for the unlock but the app still shows a paywall.

Tap Restore Purchases, on the home screen or at the bottom of the unlock screen. That asks Apple to re-confirm your purchase and normally fixes it immediately.

If it doesn't: check that you're signed in to the same Apple Account you bought with (Settings ▸ your name ▸ Media & Purchases), and that you have a connection. Purchases are tied to the Apple Account, not to the device — so a different account will not find them.

If it's still not working, email us with your Apple Account region and roughly when you purchased, and we'll help.

The app crashed or isn't behaving. What should I do?

Close and reopen the app first, then restart your device if it persists. If you're still stuck, email us with your device model and iOS version and we'll investigate.

Is Spark suitable for kids?

Yes. There's no adult content, no advertising, and no social or messaging features, and we collect no personal data from anyone.

The app does offer one optional in-app purchase, which unlocks the four paid categories. If you'd rather it weren't available, you can turn off in-app purchases in Settings ▸ Screen Time ▸ Content & Privacy Restrictions.

Will you add more categories or questions?

Yes — we're expanding the question bank and considering new categories. Anything you buy today stays unlocked as the app grows; the one-time purchase covers future categories too.
