Privacy Policy
Your signatures and documents are processed on your device. The app does not send them to Lean Orbit. There is no app account, advertising, tracking, or third-party analytics. Apple handles purchases, and you choose when and where to share your files.
This policy covers the Signature Scanner & Creator iOS app published by Lean Orbit and information you choose to send us for support.
Information collected by the app
We do not operate an app server that receives your signatures, documents, photos, or usage history. The app does not collect personal information for analytics or advertising and does not track you across apps or websites. Support email and Apple's purchase services are explained below.
What is stored on your device
Signatures, photos, and documents
Signature photographs, extracted signature images, typed signatures and initials, imported PDFs, drafts, and exported PDFs are stored in the app's private storage. The camera is used to photograph a signature with your permission. When you select an image from your photo library, the app receives the selected image, not access to browse your entire library.
The app does not provide its own cloud sync or backup service. Depending on your device settings, Apple's device backup services may include app data. See what iCloud backs up. Backups are separate from sharing a file or syncing files through the app.
Passwords for locked PDFs
A PDF password you enter is used to open the selected document. The app does not save the password or send it to us.
Free allowance and purchased credits
The app stores its allowance and credit record in the iOS Keychain. This record contains:
- Your free signature and document-export limits and the number of free uses spent.
- Randomly generated document identifiers, so the same stored document is not charged again when re-exported.
- Your remaining purchased one-use credits.
- Apple transaction identifiers for delivered credits, so a repeated purchase notification cannot add the same credit twice.
This local record is not uploaded to Lean Orbit or synced by the app through iCloud Keychain. It contains no payment-card details, signature images, or document contents. Transaction identifiers originate from Apple's purchase system.
The Keychain record is retained across app deletion and reinstallation on the same device. This prevents free uses from resetting and preserves the local credit record. It is not an app-managed cloud backup and does not guarantee recovery after a device erase or replacement. Transaction identifiers are retained to prevent duplicate credit delivery.
Preferences
The app also stores local preferences, such as whether you completed onboarding and counts used to decide when to offer an App Store rating prompt.
Apple's purchase services
The app offers optional one-use credits and a lifetime unlock. Both are one-time in-app purchases, with no automatically renewing subscription. Apple processes payments; we do not receive your payment-card information, billing address, or Apple Account login details.
The app communicates with Apple through StoreKit to load products, process and verify purchases, restore lifetime ownership, and recover unfinished transactions. It also checks the original app-purchase version to preserve an existing customer's free allowance. These requests do not send your signatures or document contents to Apple through the app.
Apple provides sales and download reports through App Store Connect. Apple's handling of purchase and account information is governed by the Apple Privacy Policy.
Sharing files
When you use the system share sheet, the file goes to the app or destination you select, such as Mail, Messages, Files, a cloud-storage provider, or a printer. That destination's privacy practices apply. Copies you share are separate from the app's local files.
Contacting support
If you email [email protected], we receive your email address, message, and any attachments you choose to include. We use that information to respond to your request and troubleshoot the issue. Please avoid sending signatures, confidential documents, passwords, or payment details; describe the issue or use a redacted screenshot instead.
Your choices
You can manage camera access in iOS Settings. Within the app, you can delete signatures and documents, or use Settings → Delete stored source photos to remove source photographs while keeping the saved signatures.
Deleting the app removes its local document and signature storage. The Keychain allowance and credit record can remain. Copies you exported to other apps and device backups are managed separately. Export files you want to keep before deleting the app.
Contact us with questions or requests about personal information you voluntarily provided through support. The app does not sell personal information or use it for advertising.
Security
The app uses iOS private app storage for documents and signatures and the Keychain for allowance and credit records. Protect access to your device and consider the privacy of any destination you choose when sharing a document.
Children
This is a general-purpose document utility. It is not directed to children, and the app does not collect personal information from children through analytics, accounts, or advertising.
